The plant sterol containing ingredient, Diminicol, contains food fat/oil, free plant sterols or stanols and water. Diminicol is a semisolid mass where plant sterols are in partly dissolved and microcystalline form.
The cholesterol lowering effect of Diminicol was studied with 155 persons in a 6 months trial. Diminicol lowered significantly total cholesterol by 9 % and LDL-cholesterol by 12 %. This was achieved with a daily dose of 1.5 grams of plant sterols. Eur J Nutr 40:66-73
